“PRAY like it depends on God. WORK like it depends on you.” — Mark Batterson
“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
Psalm 27:14 ESV
Did you know worrying and being anxious, even stressing about something happening is a sin? Why? It’s a sin because you are relying on yourself and not God. It’s a sinful expression of fear. When you surrender your worries, your troubles and your struggles to God, giving them to Him, that weight gets lifted from you. Your trust in God for these things is exactly what He wants.
Jesus said…
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”
Matthew 6:25 ESV
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22 ESV
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:6–8 ESV
Dear Father in Heaven,
I surrender my worries, my anxieties, and my struggles to you. Comfort me. Help me to be humble and kind, patient, and in waiting for You. I love You and thank You for your grace.
In Jesus’ Holy name, Amen.
