Be Intentional
We only have so much room in our lives before we get overwhelmed. If we are not intentional in our walk with God, our lives will fill up with the things of the world. When we get overwhelmed with the things of the world, that is when our lives become a mess, a disaster. We miss things, and fall short of the glory of God. This worldly state will pour out of us onto others, but will not be positive, or uplifting, or wholesome in the sight of God. It will be destructive, you may find yourself getting stressed more, angry more, having trouble getting along with people, and family members. Why does this happen? Because the world is Satan’s domain. By letting the world into your life, especially to the point of being overwhelmed by it, Satan takes pleasure in this and will destroy you and everyone and everything around you. That is his way and his desire.
We need to be intentional with our walk with God so that our lives become more filled with Jesus Christ and the comfort of the Holy Spirit, who will begin to guide us more knowingly. Getting overwhelmed with God in our lives means an abundance of blessings, and these will pour out of our lives unto others. This is the life we should strive for. Your life with God, pouring unto others, will bring peace, love, kindness, forgiveness, success, and blessings. And the greatest of these is love.
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV
“for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his. Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” Hebrews 4:10-13 ESV
God of all creation, we thank You for being present in our lives, even when we struggle with making time for You. Help us to be intentional in our walk with You, our Heavenly Father, so that we may be delivered from evil, and guarded from temptation. “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23 ESV), but that doesn’t mean You are not with us, and that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t strive every moment of every day to be intentional to You, Lord. Help us to make the time, big or small, to be with You. We love You and praise You. In Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.
